Seven young electricians have been found alive after it was reported that they had lost contact with their families on March 21 in the municipality of Matehuala, San Luis Potosí. The government of Matehuala reported that the young men were located and are at the facilities of the State Attorney General's Office, 'where the corresponding procedures are carried out by the competent authorities.' The men, from Cárdenas, had left since March 16 to carry out work at different points in the Potosi plateau and were returning on the Matehuala-Cárdenas road when communication with them was lost. The missing men, aged between 20 and 30, were identified as Ángel Daniel Pérez López, Miguel Ángel Pérez Olivo, Jaciel Zapata García, Omar Godoy Galván, Said Hernán Olvera, Celso López González, and Macario Torres Castillo. Relatives told local media that the last communication occurred on the morning of Saturday, when the group reported that they were returning to their place of origin, after which their phones stopped responding. 'The only thing we ask is that they are returned alive. They were working well, they were not involved in anything bad,' a relative told a local media outlet. According to the versions collected, a third person alerted about a possible illegal deprivation of liberty, although so far there is no confirmed information about the place of the events or the alleged perpetrators. The search sheets were disseminated by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Human Rights of San Luis Potosí, the State Commission for the Search of Persons of San Luis Potosí, and the collective 'Voice and Dignity for Ours San Luis Potosí', although so far there is no official information about the events, which has increased the concern of their relatives. Meanwhile, Deportivo Cali FC, of which some of the missing were part, also made a call on its social networks to intensify the search. 'We are trying to locate some members of our soccer team and we need your support. Any data, no matter how small it may seem, can be of great help,' the sports group stated on its Facebook page. The case occurs in a region affected by violence and amid recent reports of collective disappearances in the country, such as that of the ten miners from the Canadian company Vizsla Silver, kidnapped at the end of January in Sinaloa, allegedly deprived of liberty by an armed command after being confused with members of a rival criminal group of the Sinaloa Cartel. So far, the authorities have not reported on progress in locating the seven workers.
