América vs Mazatlán FC: Match to Proceed Amid Security Concerns

Despite the insecurity in Sinaloa due to the struggle between the Mayitos and Chapitos groups, the match between Mazatlán FC and Las Águilas del América will take place on Friday, November 1, at the El Encanto stadium. Initially, it was considered to postpone the match or change the venue, but after a meeting between the boards of both teams and Liga MX, it was decided to keep it as scheduled.

A victory in Sinaloa could position Las Águilas among the top six places in the tournament; however, facing an undefeated Mazatlán FC at home represents a challenge. Despite this, América has a good record against the cañoneros with six wins in nine matches played.

To ensure the safety of América's players, a robust protection plan will be implemented, which will include the State Police of Sinaloa, private security for the team, and the presence of the National Guard. Additionally, the club has taken internal measures such as recommending that players do not travel with their family and friends, as well as restricting staff and coaching staff from going to public places during their stay in Mazatlán.

Regarding América's performance in the Apertura 2024 tournament, they are currently in ninth place with 21 points, following a crucial victory over Rayados de Monterrey the previous weekend.
