ENGIE Mexico Receives SET Label Certification

ENGIE Mexico has won the SET Label certification for its commitment to sustainability in energy projects. This recognition emphasizes its focus on the environment and community.

ENGIE Mexico Receives SET Label Certification

ENGIE Mexico has been recognized with the SET Label (Sustainable Energy Transition) certification by Bureau Veritas, which rigorously evaluates the methods used in wind and solar projects. The certification is based on nine commitments divided into three main areas: territorial impact, preservation of nature, and contribution to climate.

Key aspects evaluated include local community participation, preservation of biodiversity, and contribution to climate change mitigation. Evelina Marín, senior sustainability manager of ENGIE Mexico, stated that this certification is a recognition of their efforts and motivates them to continue innovating in environmentally friendly energy solutions that respect communities.

On another note, the law firm Von Wobeser y Sierra has announced the incorporation of Sergio Legorreta as a partner and Andrea Vargas as an associate, strengthening its practice in Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT). This move marks the creation of a specialized technology group with expert lawyers in various areas of law, reinforcing their strategy for comprehensive services.

Sergio Legorreta is an expert in technology law, intellectual property, and compliance, while Andrea Vargas specializes in negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts with technological and intellectual components. The firm is also a pioneer in Mexico in regulation for neobanks and crypto-assets, having collaborated in the creation of the first crypto asset exchange platform in Latin America.

In another area, with the FIFA World Cup 2026 around the corner, an increase in the number of hosts in Mexico City is expected through the Airbnb platform. Ángel Terral, responsible for Airbnb in Mexico, projects an increase in the number of spaces available for tourists, especially in areas near the Estadio Azteca, where the tournament's opening will take place.

The platform already has around 26,000 properties in the Mexican capital. Due to the major sporting event that will attract millions of fans, the number of available properties on the platform is expected to naturally grow to complement the existing hotel infrastructure and balance prices in the city.

Finally, for Clara Brugada's government, the 2026 FIFA World Cup is a priority, as it represents an opportunity to showcase Mexico City as a cutting-edge place. The arrival of the SET Label certification at ENGIE Mexico is a significant achievement that validates its commitment to sustainability in renewable energy projects.
