In Azcapotzalco, a food service business was suspended “for selling products with expired dates” and for providing misleading information. In Metepec, Profeco placed seals on two department stores for not informing or displaying prices. Additionally, the Consumer Defense Office in Morelia immobilized products in a business that did not have commercial information in Spanish. Profeco reported that during the operation, 141 verification visits were carried out, 13,395 price tags and 3,396 consumer rights decalogues were placed, and 2,089 consultations were provided. The agency reiterated that it “monitors the proper commercial conduct of service providers and suppliers” and invited citizens to report irregularities through its official channels. The agency specified that the detected irregularities included not respecting displayed prices or tariffs, not informing the terms and conditions of the sale, and not showing prices or total amounts to be paid. In Mexico City, seals were placed on an automotive agency in the Tlalpan mayor's office and a pharmacy in the Benito Juárez mayor's office for not respecting displayed prices. The Federal Consumer Prosecutor's Office (Profeco) placed eight suspension seals on commercial establishments in Mexico City and the State of Mexico for various violations of the Federal Law for the Protection of Consumers, as a result of the “Vacation and Tourist Verification and Surveillance Operation December 2025”. According to the official communiqué, the operation was carried out from December 19, 2025, to January 9, 2026, and resulted in the placement of six seals in businesses located in the capital and two more in establishments in the municipality of Metepec, State of Mexico. Another pharmaceutical establishment in the same jurisdiction was sanctioned for not displaying or respecting prices. Likewise, the parking lot of a shopping center in Coyoacán received a seal for not communicating the terms of the service and making charges and round-ups without consent. In a cantina in the Cuauhtémoc mayor's office, the suspension was due to the lack of information about the terms and conditions of the sale, as well as the non-compliance with those already displayed.
