Gasoline Prices in Mexico City Remain High

At the start of this Sunday, gasoline prices in Mexico City remain at high levels, according to the latest PETROIntelligence report, which analyzes thousands of gas stations across the country. How much does gasoline cost in CDMX today? In the country's capital, the average prices per liter are: • Regular Gasoline: 23.802 pesos • Premium Gasoline: 28.388 pesos • Diesel: 28.429 pesos This data was obtained from 373 of the 403 gas stations monitored. National Comparison: Is CDMX more expensive? Nationally, average prices are slightly lower in some cases: • Regular: 23.704 pesos • Premium: 28.211 pesos • Diesel: 28.802 pesos This shows that CDMX has a slightly higher cost for regular and premium gasoline, although diesel remains below the national average. How does it compare to other states? When comparing with other important entities, interesting differences are observed: In Jalisco: • Regular: 24.008 pesos • Premium: 29.106 pesos • Diesel: 28.975 pesos In Nuevo León: • Regular: 24.015 pesos • Premium: 29.038 pesos • Diesel: 28.526 pesos In both states, prices are higher than in CDMX, especially for premium gasoline, which places the capital in an intermediate position within the country. Natural Gas: The Cheapest Alternative In contrast, Vehicle Natural Gas (VNG) remains the most economical option: • Minimum: 10.990 pesos per liter • Average: 12.601 pesos • Maximum: 14.490 pesos Although this is a preliminary figure (based on 63 stations), VNG costs almost half of regular gasoline, making it an attractive alternative for transportation. The report reflects that while CDMX does not have the highest prices in the country, it does face costs that directly impact the pockets of motorists.
