Глава правительства города Мехико, Клара Бругада, announced that starting in 2025, priority in public contracts will be given to companies led by women or those with gender-balanced boards. This approach is part of affirmative actions aimed at supporting the growth of women in the economic sphere.

During the "Women of the Future" event, the capital's leader proposed establishing an alliance between business leaders and the local government. She also called on the economic sector to promote financial inclusion and achieve gender parity in their management and boards of directors.

In her words, Clara Brugada highlighted: "If there is a company and a company led by women, 10% of all our actions related to hiring will ensure that women entrepreneurs are the beneficiaries, those who are considered."

Additionally, she stated: "This contributes to the formation of more companies led by women." The Head of Government emphasized the importance of combating the glass ceiling that limits women's advancement and expressed her desire to make Mexico City a benchmark for gender parity.

On another note, Clara Brugada announced that starting next year, her administration will launch a program to promote women's economic autonomy. This program will include financing, training, and development to boost businesses led by women. Furthermore, 200 centers for childcare and development will be implemented, some of which will be located in the Units of Transformation and Organization for Inclusion and Social Harmony (UTOPÍAS). These units will offer services such as public laundries, dining halls, and spas as part of an extensive Care System for Mexico City.

The Secretary of Economic Development (Sedeco), Манола Забалса, emphasized that employment is the best social program, especially for women, and underscored the need for them to occupy leadership positions in the business sector. In her words, "We want to see more women making decisions, not only in government but also in business." Забалса cited figures like Secretary Daptnhe, Head of Government Clara Brugada, and President Claudia Sheinbaum as examples to follow in this regard.
