The Streamers Smash event, which combines the best of mixed martial arts and the digital world, is preparing for its first edition. Lux Fight has created this competition where eight streamers selected two aspiring fighters in the professional category to participate in two different tournaments. One of the tournaments seeks a contract with Lux, while the other will compete for the first crown of the Streamers Smash tournament.
The events will include the quarter-finals in Mexico City on January 31, the next stage in Monterrey on February 21, the semi-finals in Guadalajara on May 16, and the grand final in Monterrey on August 15. Two of the participating streamers, Yamirootz and Guefe, shared their thoughts about the event and their participation in it. In an atmosphere where most of the invited streamers have no experience in mixed martial arts, the excitement is palpable and the event is expected to be well received by the public.
Yami expressed: "We are excited, it’s a new event because it’s something we’re not used to seeing. How great that Lux promotes sports through us and involves us to help athletes with the possibility of changing their lives." Guefe added: "You can expect an advanced final because they are the two best fighters in the competition. We do everything possible in the days before, but on the event day, everything will be in the hands of the two best athletes in the league."
Both streamers highlighted the importance of this event in combining sport with the digital world.
