Kylla Piquerás, a self-taught artist, presents her exhibition titled "Sanctuary", which stands out for the use of various formats and techniques that invite the viewer to reflect on the resignification and reintegration of cultural symbols. In her work, Piquerás merges painting, screen printing, embroidery, and dyeing, using elements of popular and contemporary art to create a vibrant work that conveys a profound cultural syncretism.
Each piece of the exhibition aims to represent the hidden essences of reality, challenging established norms and connecting the present with ancestral memory. Throughout more than 15 years of her career, Piquerás has dedicated time to the study of medicinal plants in her country and the research of sacred symbolism from various spiritual traditions.
Influenced by her great-grandfather, Manuel Piqueras Cotolí, sculptor and architect of the neo-Peruvian movement, Kylla continues her autonomous artistic vision based on pre-Columbian art and modernism. The "Sanctuary" exhibition focuses on abstraction and experimentation, offering an immersion into the personal and intimate universe of the artist, challenging the viewer to explore new artistic horizons.
Kylla Piquerás will be one of the protagonists of Art Week 2025 in Mexico City, presenting her exhibition in exclusive venues such as Pug Seal Anatole and Allan Poe, with an extension at the Ricardo Reyes Gallery. This show has received great success, leading to the expansion of the exhibition to other spaces.
