On Saturday, February 15, the Museum of the City of Mexico will celebrate the "Literary Picnic," an event that will invite booksellers, bookshop owners, and the general public to participate. Admission will be free, with a limited capacity of 200 people. It will take place at the museum premises at Pino Suárez 30, Historic Center, from 12:00 to 17:00 hours.
The "Literary Picnic" will include a Colloquium of Booksellers, organized by the Ministry of Culture of Mexico City in collaboration with the San Fernando Book Garden and Libriejos. During the event, talks and reflections on literature in the city, the role of women in promoting books, and experiences from the bookselling community will be offered.
Additionally, there will be a display of books, auctions, and exchanges, allowing attendees to swap copies or discover new readings to enrich their personal libraries. The event aims to provide a meeting space for the public of all ages and the literary projects of Mexico City, fostering dialogue with booksellers.
The San Fernando Book Garden, a local cultural initiative, will temporarily move its self-managed dynamics to the Museum of the City of Mexico, promoting its wide literary offerings. Every Saturday, this project brings together numerous booksellers near the San Fernando Pantheon Museum.
With this initiative, the Ministry of Culture seeks to strengthen access to reading and promote the exercise of cultural rights in the capital.
