A fire broke out in the morning at a building undergoing renovation located on the street República de Paraguay and República de Chile, in the Centro neighborhood of the Cuauhtémoc Mayor's Office. Fortunately, there were only material losses, as the building was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
The fire, which started before 8:00 a.m., consumed accumulated garbage and some wooden beams that supported the facade of the building, causing partial roof collapse. The magnitude of the fire led to a significant mobilization of emergency vehicles and attracted the attention of passersby and residents in the area.
Emergency services, led by the CDMX Fire Department, quickly arrived at the scene and, after intense efforts, managed to extinguish the flames around 8:15 a.m. A preventive evacuation of people in nearby buildings was implemented as a precaution due to the intensity of the fire, but fortunately, there were no injuries reported.
Authorities currently do not know the causes of the fire, and investigations are expected to be conducted to determine its exact origin. The incident caused significant commotion in the area, but thanks to the prompt response of the emergency teams, the situation was controlled, and personal injuries were avoided.
