On March 8th, the International Women's Day march will take place in Mexico City (CDMX), where thousands of women and people of diverse gender identities will manifest for equality, the eradication of violence and discrimination, as well as for the recognition and guarantee of the rights of women and girls. This day also serves to demand justice for the victims of disappearances and femicide.
The March 8th march in CDMX will be held between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM in the city center, uniting hundreds of women in a massive protest to raise awareness of the fight for the rights of all women and girls. Various groups and contingents are organizing through social media to participate in the demonstration.
In previous editions, the march has started at iconic points such as the Angel of Independence or the Monument to the Revolution and has traveled important avenues of the Historic Center until reaching the Zócalo, facing the National Palace. The mobilization is expected to start around 2:00 PM, with the participation of feminist collectives, political, union organizations, people with disabilities, members of the LGBT+ community, and other sectors of society.
