
On March 5th, a detailed review of the fire extinguishers was carried out under the supervision of the Human Rights Commission of Mexico City, the General Directorate of Human Rights, and the Specialized Gender Unit of the SSC to ensure their proper and transparent use.
Additionally, in preparation for any medical emergencies during the demonstration, 10 ambulances, 10 motorcycle ambulances, and 85 paramedics from the Rescue and Medical Emergency Squad (ERUM) will be available.
On the other hand, the Undersecretary of Traffic Control will implement measures to ensure both pedestrian and vehicular mobility and facilitate the passage of demonstrators in the march on March 8th.
The Mexico City Security Secretariat reiterated its commitment to respecting human rights and ensuring safety at demonstrations, safeguarding the integrity of participants and the well-being of citizens.
Regarding security during the International Women’s Day march, it was reported that 800 policewomen will secure the mobilization, following the directives of the Governor, Clara Brugada. They will provide support from a distance and will only act in case of an emergency, while an additional 400 police officers will be nearby in case their intervention is required.
The participating officers will be properly identified with their uniforms and equipped with helmets, shields, and in some cases, fire extinguishers to handle any emergency situations that may arise during the march.
