Join the Second Dog and Cat Adoption Event

The Secretariat of the Environment (SEDEMA) of Mexico City has invited citizens to participate in the Second Dog and Cat Adoption Event, which will take place on May 3rd and 4th in the second section of Chapultepec Forest. The main objective of this event, organized by the Animal Attention Agency (AGATAN), is to promote the responsible adoption of animals in street situations, giving them a new opportunity for life, love, and care.

The event will be held from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM with free admission, allowing attendees to meet the animals available for adoption and collaborate with this noble cause of animal welfare. Those interested in adopting must comply with a specific protocol to ensure that dogs and cats are welcomed into responsible homes. SEDEMA has announced that this event will feature the participation of the Canine Transfer Center (CTCM), the Environmental Attorney's Office, the Secretariat of Health (SEDESA), the Animal Vigilance Brigade (BVA), as well as rescuers, protectors, and animal rights activists.

In addition to adoptions, the Second Adoption Event in CDMX will offer complementary activities such as donation drives and cause-related sales. Talks will be held by specialists and experts on various topics related to the care and integration of animals. Topics to be discussed include how to socialize and integrate an adopted animal into its new home, guidance on reporting cases of animal abuse, the importance of sterilization as a preventive measure to control animal overpopulation, animal welfare, and keys to ensuring a healthy life for pets.

Independent rescuers will participate with a runway of rescued animals, presenting dogs and cats seeking a home. They will also offer a talk on the care of fish and other non-traditional companion animals.
