The Collective Transport System (STC) Metro reported that this Wednesday, November 12th, service on Line 1, which currently operates from Pantitlán to Chapultepec, will conclude at 22:00 due to comprehensive testing of control and telecommunications systems prior to the upcoming reopening of the service to Observatorio.
According to the official statement, the last train run will depart at 21:30 from both terminals, so passengers are urged to plan their trips in advance to avoid delays.
«Service on Line 1 will conclude at 22:00. The modification to the service schedule is necessary to carry out comprehensive tests, prior to the opening of Line 1 to the Observatorio terminal,» STC specified.
The technical maneuvers will include trials of the control and telecommunications systems with trains on the Pantitlán–Chapultepec stretch, part of the modernization process that will allow for the full launch of Line 1 in the coming days.
The Metro recalled that these works are part of the second stage of rehabilitation, which aims to improve the safety, efficiency, and capacity of the service.
In support of passengers, the Government of Mexico City announced that an alternative service of the Passenger Transport Network (RTP) will be enabled from 22:00 until midnight, covering the route of Line 1 to guarantee the mobility of users.
