Active Day in Mexico City: Marches and Protests on April 7

Mexico City will have an active day on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, with various marches, rallies, and events that could cause traffic disruptions at different points in the capital. According to the social mobilization agenda of the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC), at least one march, eight rallies, and multiple activities are scheduled throughout the day. The main march will be led by the National Committee for the Defense and Conservation of the Santa María Chimalapa Indigenous People, Oaxaca. The march is scheduled for 11:00, starting from the offices of the National Institute of Indigenous Peoples, located on Insurgentes Sur 555, in the Roma Sur neighborhood, heading to the Superior Agrarian Tribunal in the Nápoles neighborhood. Protesters will deliver injunctions against resolutions related to agrarian conflicts in their territory, so the arrival of buses with participants and possible disruptions on Insurgentes Sur is not ruled out. Throughout the day, various rallies are planned in several municipalities: Starting at 06:30, the collective 'Hasta Encontrarlos' will meet at Metro Chabacano to travel to a search brigade for missing persons in the Tláhuac-Chalco area. At 08:30, former and current citizen security workers will gather at the East Reformatory in Iztapalapa in support of a prosecuted police officer. At 09:00, residents of Cuajimalpa may protest on the Mexico-Toluca highway due to a territorial dispute that could lead to blockades. At 10:00, workers from Xoco Hospital will protest over alleged workplace harassment and sanitary conditions. At noon, collectives such as 'Plataforma 4:20' and 'Hijas de la Cannabis' will hold activities at the Monument to the Mother, Plaza Tlaxcoaque, and the Juárez Hemicycle. During the day, the presence of a person protesting in the capital's Zócalo due to dissatisfaction with security authorities is also reported. In addition to the mobilizations, the capital will also have massive events that could increase vehicular traffic: The AC/DC concert at the GNP Seguros Stadium, with an estimated attendance of 70,000 people. Cultural activities such as the 'Mexico City, Heart of Indigenous Languages and Cultures' Festival in the Zócalo. Sporting events such as lucha libre at the Arena México. Nightly cycling tours in municipalities such as Coyoacán, Cuauhtémoc, Azcapotzalco, and Iztacalco. Authorities recommend that the population take precautions, anticipate travel times, and consider alternative routes due to possible traffic disruptions at various points in the city.
