Mexico City will face a day with multiple social mobilizations this Saturday, April 11, 2026, mainly in the Cuauhtémoc borough, where most protests, cultural activities, and gatherings are concentrated, which could affect vehicular traffic. According to the schedule of the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC), at least 12 gatherings are planned, as well as bike rides, cultural events, and political meetings that will take place throughout the day at different points in the capital. Cannabis, social, and political protests will dominate the day. Among the most relevant mobilizations, the collective Platform 4:20 stands out, which will gather at noon at the Monument to the Mother to demand regulation, self-cultivation, and legal spaces for cannabis consumption. In parallel, the collective Daughters of Cannabis will carry out activities at Plaza Tlaxcoaque and the Hemiciclo a Juárez, with a focus on rights, gender perspective, and social support. In the international sphere, the Mexican Association of Muslim Women will hold a concentration at the Embassy of Iran, in protest of recent events in the Middle East, which could affect Paseo de la Reforma. Likewise, the Coalition for Freedom will demonstrate at the Embassy of Cuba, in Polanco, to demand political changes and greater transparency. Bike rides, events, and other gatherings will also impact traffic. In addition to the protests, bike rides are planned in boroughs such as Azcapotzalco, Iztapalapa, and Gustavo A. Madero, as well as routes that will depart from points such as Indios Verdes towards the “Luis Enrique Erro” Planetarium. Activities will also take place in spaces such as the Monument to the Revolution and the Palace of Fine Arts, where collectives will hold informational and cultural events. In the afternoon, animalist organizations will protest in front of a hotel in the Benito Juárez borough to demand the closure of a dolphinarium, which could cause slow traffic on Insurgentes Sur. The capital's authorities do not rule out intermittent blockades, the presence of additional contingents, or affectations on primary roads, so it is recommended that the public take precautions, anticipate transfers, and consider alternative routes during this Saturday.
