The Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) will deploy a large-scale operation in Mexico City for the return to classes scheduled for this Monday, April 13. The objective is to guarantee the safety of students, parents, and educational staff, as well as maintain order in urban mobility.

Over 14,000 police on streets and schools. The operation involves 14,422 officers who will begin their duties from the early hours of the day at access points, adjacent streets, and main avenues near educational institutions in the capital's 16 boroughs.

To reinforce these actions, the uniformed officers will be supported by 1,024 official vehicles, 55 motorcycles, 6 tow trucks, 15 ambulances, 12 motorcycle ambulances, and 3 helicopters from the 'Condors' unit, which will conduct preventive surveillance flights.

Comprehensive surveillance and traffic control. The operation will also include sectoral police, Traffic Police, Auxiliary, Banking, and Industrial Police, as well as personnel from the School Security Directorate and crime prevention areas, who will be deployed at strategic points.

The deployment includes permanent monitoring through the C2 and C5 Command and Control Centers, as well as patrols on public transport routes, Modal Transfer Centers, and stations of the Metro, Metrobús, and Light Train, with the aim of safeguarding the commutes of the school community.

Capital authorities made a call to the public to respect road signs, avoid parking in prohibited places, and anticipate their travel times.

The objective, they stated, is to contribute to a safe and orderly return to classes, given the increase in vehicular and pedestrian flow that occurs on these occasions.
