The Mexico City Metro experienced delays on several of its lines during the morning of Monday, October 21, due to heavy rains that affected the speed of the trains. Users from different lines, such as 3, 7, 12, B, and A, expressed their discontent with the service provided and the delays in journeys.
On line A, which runs from Pantitlán to La Paz, slow progress and a high influx of passengers were reported, leading to complaints about prolonged stops. Some users indicated delays of up to 10 minutes between stations on line 3. Line 12 also showed slower progress than usual.
The Collective Transportation System (STC) Metro reported that, in addition to the rains, a safety operation was implemented on lines 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 12, A, and B, resulting in slower train movement. Maximum waiting times on the busier lines varied between 5 and 6 minutes.
Users of line B complained of delays of up to half an hour in the service towards Buenavista, even in the absence of rain. On other lines such as 7, slow train movement was also experienced, leading passengers to express their desire for a more agile progress in the collective transportation system.
In light of these circumstances, users of the Mexico City Metro are advised to check alternative routes to ensure timely arrival at their destinations, given the situation of slow progress on several reported lines.
