
Yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, a preliminary magnitude 5.0 earthquake was recorded with its epicenter in San Marcos, Guerrero, which was felt in Mexico City. According to the National Seismological Service (SSN), the epicenter of the tremor was located 62 km southwest of San Marcos at 4:17 PM. The event was captured by the seismograph of UNAM.
The SSN reported that the earthquake had a depth of 28 km and ruled out the occurrence of significant aftershocks. So far, no property damage or casualties have been reported as a result of this tremor.
"It is important to remain calm and follow the instructions of Civil Protection in the presence of these seismic events," the official agency stated. Citizens have been urged to stay informed through reliable sources about any news related to seismic activity in the region.
