CDMX Metro Rescues Dog on the Tracks

On October 24, 2024, the Mexico City Metro reported an incident in which a dog was trapped on the tracks at the Santa Marta station on Line A. Despite rescue efforts that involved cutting power, train circulation continued uninterrupted.

This case highlighted the importance of following regulations when transporting pets on the CDMX Metro. According to the regulations, users are urged to avoid bringing animals unless they are in special carriers. It is often observed that stray dogs enter the facilities, like the rescued dog on this occasion.

The rescued dog was later taken to the Canine Transfer Center for medical attention. The situation caused disruptions in user mobility, as it was necessary to interrupt the power supply to carry out the rescue operations.

According to the Collective Transportation System (STC) Metro, the welfare and integrity of animals entering the transport service stations are priorities. On this occasion, the rescue of the dog at the Santa Marta station on Line A involved coordination to ensure its safety without significantly affecting Metro operations.
