
Mexican businessman Alejandro Soberón was seen at the 2024 Mexico Grand Prix, accompanied by his ex-partner Sasha Sokol. Besides being known for his relationship with the singer, Soberón is the founder of the Inter-American Entertainment Corporation (CIE), an important company in the entertainment industry in Mexico.
Soberón is the majority shareholder of CIE, which includes Ocesa, known for organizing events like Vive Latino or Pa’l Norte, and is responsible for bringing Formula 1 to Mexico and organizing the Mexico Grand Prix. He began his career organizing concerts and events at the university before founding Ocesa in 1990, establishing himself as a leader in the entertainment sector in Mexico.
In addition to his achievements in the entertainment world, Alejandro Soberón is a member of the Boards of Directors of important companies such as Grupo Financiero Banamex and América Móvil. In addition, he owns various locations in Mexico where national and international artists perform.
Alejandro Soberón has expressed interest in bringing the IndyCar racing category to Mexico, especially after the success of Mexican driver Pato O'Ward at the 2024 Mexico Grand Prix. Following discussions with IndyCar organizers, the possibility of hosting these competitions in Mexico in the future, possibly starting in 2026, is being considered. Despite this interest in IndyCar, Soberón acknowledges that Formula 1 remains the top category in the world of racing.
