The famous Cirque Du Soleil show: Kurios has returned to the Gran Carpa Santa Fe in Mexico City. As part of the activities leading up to the show, the raising of the tent that will accommodate both the audience and the artists took place.
*Kurios: Cabinet of Curiosities* tells the story of a seeker who believes his cabinet contains a world of never-before-seen curiosities that come to life, surprising with their magic. The show will be available from November 7 to December 29.
The preparation process for the show involves more than 100 people and takes approximately 7 days. The raising of the tent is mainly done manually, with the participation of around 150 people who, together, manage to lift the structure.
David Constantineau, the site director of the show, mentioned that raising the tent is a crucial part in which all pieces are assembled by hand before beginning to construct the stage. All this work is carried out with the aim of offering one of the best shows to the audience.
The technical team faces various challenges, such as climatic issues and those related to the venue. Alfonso Verdugo, a member of the carpentry and props department, explained that it is essential to level the stage floor to ensure the stability and safety of the artists, regardless of external conditions.
Cirque Du Soleil: Kurios has a team made up of people from more than 31 nationalities, including Mexicans. Alfonso Verdugo, a circus technician, expressed his pride in being able to work on one of the most successful productions worldwide and emphasized the importance of sharing Mexican culture with the rest of the team.
