The national gem of the Philippines stands out in the upcoming edition of the Miss Universe contest with a spectacular crown adorned with 23 golden pearls, symbolizing the land and radiant beauty over the ocean. The event will take place at the Arena Ciudad de México, with the preliminary competition scheduled for November 14, 2024, at 8:00 PM.
The audience will have the opportunity to see the contestants in action during the preliminary competition, presented by the current Miss Universe, Sheynnis Palacios, alongside Miss Universe 2022, R'Bonney Gabriel. The final of the 73rd edition of Miss Universe is scheduled for November 16, 2024, at the same location.
A highlight of this year is the crown La Luz del Infinito, presented on November 13, which will be awarded to the new Miss Universe by the current Nicaraguan, Sheynnis Palacios. This unique crown, created by Filipino artisans, features diamonds and gold that symbolize the sun, the sea foam, and the air over the waves.
The show will include rounds in swimwear and evening wear, providing exciting clues about who may advance to the finals in pursuit of the coveted crown. The coronation will be broadcast live at 7:00 PM through Azteca Uno, preceded by a pre-show at 6:30 PM.
Among the attendees at the presentation of La Luz del Infinito were Anne Jakrajutatip, Raúl Rocha, Sheynnis Palacios, Osmel Sousa, the Beauty Czar, and directors of the delegations. The crown, designed by the Filipino jewelry brand Jewelmer, stands out for its rarity as it is made with golden pearls from the South Sea, the national gem of the Philippines, as revealed by Jacques Christophe Branellec, the jeweler responsible for its creation.
