In an interview with Publimetro, Darián Cobas, responsible for the aerial duo number, and Federico Brú, part of the costume team, shared the ins and outs of their work to provide the best experience for the Mexican audience. Cobas mentioned that his project in the show is a long process that requires constant training and sacrifice.
On the other hand, Federico explained the daily demands of working in costumes due to the wear caused by the artists and the need to keep everything impeccable for each performance. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of organizing costume fittings, purchasing materials, and constant cleaning.
Despite the charm of the show, Cobas shared details about his daily life in the circus as part of his daily preparation. Living in the circus involves a morning routine of stretching, mental preparation, and warming up before each performance.
Regarding physical challenges, Cobas mentioned that the altitude of Mexico City affects the breathing and cardiovascular performance of the artists, requiring an adaptation process to give their best in every act.
Darián Cobas and Federico Brú, from Cuba and Argentina respectively, highlighted the pride of representing their countries in an international company like Cirque du Soleil. Cobas feels fortunate to be one of the few Cubans in the company and also thanks Spain for his artistic growth, while Federico values the opportunity to bring to Cirque du Soleil the passion and tireless work ethic of Latin America.
