Mexico City Metro Reports Delays

This Friday of the biweekly pay period, the Metro of Mexico City is experiencing delays on at least three of its 12 lines due to a high influx of passengers just a few hours after service began. Users are advised to take precautions.

Users on social media have shared photos of lines 12, A, and 7, which are the most affected by delays and passenger congestion. They have requested Metro authorities to expedite the progress of the trains. Line 12, which runs from Mixcoac to Tláhuac, is reporting delays of more than 6 minutes, exceeding the usual waiting time.

In a comment on Twitter, a user expressed: 'What is happening on line 12 of the Metro? It stops for 8 to 10 minutes per station, we need to get to work.' The Sistema de Transporte Colectivo (STC) Metro informed through its account that line 12 has a high influx of passengers and is working to improve the circulation of trains.

Line 7, which runs from El Rosario to Barranca del Muerto, is also experiencing delays this Friday, with users reporting a lack of progress in both directions. Passengers have been advised to allow the doors to close freely and to exit the train before entering to expedite the service.

Other lines affected by delays and maximum passenger influx this Friday are lines 3, 8, 9, A, and B. On line A, which runs from Pantitlán to La Paz, delays of more than six minutes have been reported, leading to trains operating at maximum capacity, according to user complaints. One passenger complained: 'Send an empty metro to Santa Martha station or to Los Reyes, and the convoy leaving La Paz is packed, I doubt that engineers are working on the system, their job is regrettable.'
