Serial Rapist Strikes Fear in Mexico City

On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, information was made public about a serial rapist operating in the Cuajimalpa borough of Mexico City (CDMX). Despite some clues about his modus operandi, the authorities of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City have not yet managed to capture the assailant of women.

The news about this serial rapist, which has generated fear among the women of Mexico City, was reported by journalist Carlos Jiménez. According to the provided information, the assailant contacts his victims through taxi apps like Uber, requesting a ride to a church. However, investigations remain ongoing to identify and apprehend the perpetrator of these crimes.

One of the most notable cases of serial rapists in CDMX was that of Miguel Cortés Miranda, known as the "Mexican Dahmer," who would ask women to take him to Cuajimalpa after apparently performing religious activities at the chapel he visited, where he sexually assaulted them. The serial rapist's attacks are sporadic, and investigations are still ongoing, including the analysis of digital materials found in his apartment that could provide clues about the extent of his crimes.

Human remains were discovered at his home in the La Cruz Coyuya neighborhood, including the body of María José, which led to Cortés's arrest. The identities of two other victims have not yet been revealed out of respect for their families, although names like Frida Sofía and Viviana Elizabeth are mentioned as possible victims, without official confirmation of their relation to the found remains. The incidents were recorded in September 2024 and January 2025.
