The National Meteorological Service (SMN) has issued a forecast for February 5, 2025, which includes the probability of isolated rains in Mexico City with moderate precipitation of between 0.1 and 5 mm over a 24-hour period. On the other hand, intervals of showers are expected in the State of Mexico, where rainfall could accumulate between 5 and 25 mm, accompanied by electrical activity. Temperatures in the capital will be relatively cool, with a maximum of between 22 and 24°C and a minimum of 8 to 10°C. The wind will blow with variable direction, reaching speeds of between 10 and 20 km/h, with gusts up to 40 km/h.
According to the SMN, there is a possibility of snowfall or sleet on the highest peaks of the central region of the country, such as Iztaccíhuatl and Popocatépetl, due to low temperatures in the elevated areas, which could create conditions of poor visibility, especially in high and difficult-to-access areas.
As the day of February 5 progresses, the weather is expected to become milder, with partly cloudy skies in Mexico City and the State of Mexico. The SMN warns of rain, showers, electrical discharges, and hail in the Valley of Mexico due to a cyclonic circulation in the mid-levels of the atmosphere and the influx of moisture from the Pacific Ocean into the center of the country.
From the morning of that day, a cold to cool environment is expected in the region, with the presence of fog banks in various areas of the Valley of Mexico.
