The General Hospital IMSS Bienestar Xoco celebrated its 63rd anniversary with the inauguration of a new X-ray room, following an investment of 4 million pesos. The new Fujifilm X-ray equipment will improve the accuracy of diagnoses for the 160,000 annual studies conducted at the hospital.
The modern radiographic image generation system with reduced radiation doses provides real-time visualization, facilitating more accurate diagnoses in just seconds. In 2024, the hospital attended to 18,753 emergencies, highlighting the increase in patients affected by trauma from motorcycle accidents.
The incorporation of this state-of-the-art equipment will not only enhance the accuracy and speed of diagnoses but will also strengthen the hospital's position as a reference center for trauma and neurotrauma in the southern part of Mexico City.
The new X-ray room will have 32 radiologic technicians distributed across all shifts, and it is expected to conduct around 160,000 annual studies. Additionally, 74,169 X-ray studies were performed free of charge, demonstrating the hospital's commitment to public health care.
As part of a national strategy for renewing medical equipment, the hospital received a Philips 64-slice CT scanner in June 2024. The total investment for the renovation of the room and the X-ray equipment has amounted to approximately 4 million pesos.
Through these actions, IMSS Bienestar reaffirms its commitment to providing quality and free public health services, particularly aimed at the most vulnerable populations, making the right to health a reality.
