Dr. Gerson Cwilich Honored for Medical Achievements

Raquel Gerson Cwilich, a recognized medical oncologist and director of the Cancer Center at the ABC Hospital Observatorio campus, has been awarded several prizes throughout her career that encompass different areas of oncology. Noteworthy among them are the "Eduardo Liceaga" award from the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Republic in Mexico City, the Academic Career recognition from the Mexican Society of Oncology, and the recognition for 25 years of outstanding participation in the Mexican Consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

Gerson Cwilich obtained her specialization in Medical Oncology at Northwestern University in Chicago before completing her doctorate in Medical Sciences at UNAM. Throughout her career, she has published numerous research articles in prestigious journals such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Cancer Journal, the Annals of Oncology, and the Mexican Gazette of Oncology.

Dr. Gerson Cwilich, with over 40 years of experience in the field of oncology, is an influential figure who continues to contribute to the advancement of research and medical care in Mexico. Her academic training includes a residency in internal medicine at Tufts University in Boston and a subsequent specialization in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology at Harvard. A graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at UNAM, Dr. Gerson Cwilich has been recognized for both her academic achievements and her commitment to the health and well-being of her patients.

Her dedication and passion for oncology have made her a reference in the field of health, being awarded prizes such as the "Dr. Francisco Tenorio González" from the Mexican College of Specialists in Gynecology and Obstetrics in Mexico City, as well as the Rosario Barroso Moguel Award for the scientific career of women in 2024.
