Legislative Agenda 2025 Focused on Health and Rights

The Orange Bench in the Congress of Mexico City, led by Royfid Torres, has presented its legislative agenda for the 2025 period. This plan focuses on issues of human rights, freedoms, and guarantees for all sectors of society. Royfid Torres emphasized that a new approach to justice and public security will be promoted in the Mexican capital, as well as the creation of a new Land Use Law.

Additionally, it is proposed to renew the Mental Health Law and consolidate the Integral Care System Law. Torres expects the proposal from the head of government to make the latter a reality, stating that this agenda has been adopted by other political parties. In the field of land use, legislation will be sought to ensure proper city planning and avoid decisions that may affect the environment, mobility, and resources such as water.

Regarding security and justice, the Orange Bench will work on reforms to the justice procurement and social reintegration systems, seeking to implement alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and strengthen inter-institutional coordination. In the health sector, guarantees for the supply of medications will continue to be promoted, especially for cancer and diabetes treatments, as well as for defending labor rights in the sector.

On the other hand, Alejandro Piña, leader of Movimiento Ciudadano in Mexico City, disassociated his party from purely oppositional stances, stating that they represent a vision for the future and are a political alternative in the capital. During the presentation of the legislative agenda, Piña reiterated MC's commitment and expressed the intention to achieve greater representation in the capital's Congress for the year 2027. The leader emphasized the importance of solidifying as a strong political option and expanding their reach in the city.
