The National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued a forecast for the Valley of Mexico on February 16, 2025. According to the SMN, isolated rain and possible electrical discharges are expected due to a low-pressure channel over the center of the country and the influx of moisture from the Pacific and the Gulf of Mexico.
Sunday, February 16, will start with partly cloudy skies, haze, and a cold to cool morning. In the afternoon, a shift to a temperate to warm environment is expected with partly cloudy to cloudy skies, and the probability of rain and showers of 5 to 25 millimeters in 24 hours. Northerly and northeasterly winds of 10 to 25 km/h are also expected, with gusts up to 40 km/h.
The SMN advises the population to stay informed through official media about the weather conditions and take precautions against possible rain and electrical storms. In Mexico City and the State of Mexico, rain accompanied by electrical discharges is expected, so the population is recommended to be alert during the day.
Regarding temperatures, Mexico City is expected to have a maximum of 23 to 25°C and a minimum of 10 to 12°C. It is advised to avoid outdoor activities during electrical storms and to be prepared for sudden changes in the weather.
