Hoy no Circula: New Restrictions in Mexico City

In Mexico City, drivers are reminded of the importance of respecting the restrictions of the Hoy No Circula program to avoid fines ranging from two thousand 262 to three thousand 394 pesos, in addition to the towing of the vehicle to the depot and the payment of the tow fee. In particular, those with a pink sticker and license plates ending in 7 and 8 cannot circulate from 05:00 to 22:00 hours.

The Hoy No Circula program applies in various municipalities of the State of Mexico and in the 16 boroughs of Mexico City. The restrictions also vary depending on the vehicle verification hologram. Vehicles with 0 and 00 holograms are exempt, as well as some specific cases such as tractors, industrial machinery, motorcycles, electric vehicles, and special service vehicles.

Regarding holograms 1 and 2, vehicles with hologram 2 cannot circulate on Saturdays from 05:00 to 22:00 hours, just like foreign vehicles with foreign plates. Vehicles with hologram 1 and license plates ending in even or odd numbers have circulation restrictions on specific Saturdays of the month, from 05:00 to 22:00.

It is essential for drivers to be aware of these provisions to avoid penalties and contribute to the improvement of air quality in Mexico City and its metropolitan area.
