A suspected robber jumped into the void from the second floor of the Periférico in Mexico City to avoid detention by agents of the Citizens' Security Secretariat (SSC). This individual, along with two others involved, had robbed a driver, taking money and belongings, and were subsequently arrested by the police.
After receiving an alert about a robbery of a driver on San Jerónimo Avenue, monitors from the West Command and Control Center (C2) guided agents to stop the taxi involved in the crime. Two of the criminals were apprehended at the scene, but a third chose to attempt to escape.
To evade capture, the third suspect jumped from the second floor into the void, landing on a tree and continuing his flight. Finally, he was detained on Revolución Avenue and Merced Gómez, presenting multiple injuries from the fall. He was transferred to a hospital under police custody for medical attention.
The two detainees, aged 29 and 33, were found in possession of stolen belongings, a firearm, and ammunition. After investigation, it was determined that the robbers may be linked to another robbery of a driver in previous days in the same area.
