In Mexico, 45% of adults have poor sleep quality, according to the Sleep Disorders Clinic of UNAM. To address this issue, the Government of CDMX and the Mexican Psychiatric Association have organized the Pijamatón CDMX 2025, an initiative aimed at highlighting the importance of good rest.

The Pijamatón CDMX will take place on Thursday, March 13, as part of the activities leading up to World Sleep Day, celebrated on March 14. The dynamic encourages citizens to wear pajamas at their workplaces, schools, and public spaces as a way to foster reflection on the impact that sleep has on mental and physical health.

The World Health Organization emphasizes that adequate sleep contributes to physical and mental well-being by regulating the immune, cardiovascular, and neurological systems. According to WHO recommendations, the recommended hours of sleep by age group are as follows: 12-17 hours daily for infants (0-11 months), 9-14 hours daily for children (1-12 years), 8-10 hours daily for teenagers (13-18 years), 7-9 hours daily for adults (18-64 years), and 7-8 hours daily for older adults (65+ years).

To participate in the Pijamatón, you simply need to wear pajamas on March 13 and share the experience on social media using the official hashtags. The intention is to spread the importance of good rest for health and well-being, promoting habits that improve the quality of life of the population.

With this initiative, CDMX aims to raise awareness about the impact of sleep on daily life and encourage healthy practices that benefit the entire community.
