Hoy No Circula Program in Mexico City

The Hoy No Circula Program establishes measures applicable to vehicle circulation, with the aim of preventing, minimizing, and controlling the emission of pollutants. It was created to standardize and minimize the impacts in the Megalopolis, Mexico City, and the State of Mexico, limiting the circulation of private vehicles, regardless of the origin of the plates and/or registration.

Vehicles that do not circulate this Tuesday are those with pink stickers, plate endings 7 and 8, verification hologram 1 and 2, holograms 0 and 00, electric and hybrid vehicles, vehicles driven by health personnel, motorcycles, and cars with disability plates.

The schedule for Hoy No Circula runs from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Failure to comply with the program's regulations will result in fines ranging from 2,075 pesos to 3,112 pesos.

The only day when Hoy No Circula does not apply to any vehicle is Sunday, exempting them from any type of restriction. The only exception to this rule is when the Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis declares the suspension of the program or a double Hoy No Circula.
