New Hoy No Circula Measures Announced

The Hoy No Circula Program establishes measures applicable to vehicular circulation with the aim of preventing, minimizing, and controlling pollutant emissions. In the Megalopolis, Mexico City, and the State of Mexico, the goal is to standardize and minimize the impacts through this measure that limits the circulation of private vehicles, regardless of the origin of the plates or registration.

The cars that will not circulate this Saturday will depend on both the hologram and the last digit of the plates, being divided into even (0-2-4-6-8) and odd (1-3-5-7-9) numbers. Vehicles with hologram 1 and even plate endings will be the affected ones. It is also reminded that vehicles with Hologram 2 will not circulate, regardless of their plate number. In contrast, vehicles with double zero hologram, hybrids, and electric vehicles are not subject to these restrictions.

The restriction program, which includes the Hoy No Circula Sabatino, starts at 05:00 hours and ends at 22:00 hours, applying the same restrictions as on other days of the week. Regarding Sunday, the Hoy No Circula does not apply to any vehicle, remaining exempt from any type of restriction, except in exceptional cases when the Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis dictates the suspension of the program or a double Hoy No Circula.
