In Mexico City, the Attorney General's Office is investigating nine reports filed between March 14 and April 19, 2025. Seven women and two men, aged between 16 and 44 years, reported having been pricked on the body while traveling on the Metro or Metrobús in the capital. The objective of the investigation is to clarify the events and prevent risks for users of public transport.
To address these cases, a special team has been formed, consisting of forensic services and the Investigation Police, in coordination with the Secretariat of Citizen Security and the authorities of the Metro and Metrobús Collective Transport System. Fortunately, so far, the toxicological studies conducted on the affected individuals have not yielded positive results regarding the administration of substances.
Public transport personnel in the Mexican capital are trained to assess the physical conditions of users and ensure their safety in case of need, including transfer to a hospital if medical assistance is required. Additionally, psychological and legal support is offered to those wishing to file a report.
Users are advised to remain vigilant and, if they notice anything unusual or feel a prick or pinch on their skin while traveling on public transport, to pull the emergency lever or approach security personnel at the stations to ask for help. Authorities have ruled out that the cases investigated so far have involved risk or attempts of kidnapping.
On the other hand, agents from the Auxiliary Police of the Banking and Industrial Police collaborate with the Institutional Security Management of the Collective Transport System to respond to user reports, activate emergency services when necessary, and monitor through surveillance cameras. These actions aim to detect unusual situations, strengthen police presence in specific areas, and prevent illicit behaviors during trips.
In conclusion, the Collective Transport System has a protocol for attention in case of risk during transit, in order to guarantee the safety and well-being of users in Mexico City.
