Statewide Measles Vaccination Campaign in Mexico

The Government of the State of Mexico is launching a measles vaccination campaign from February 7 to 15. Over 400,000 doses will be administered at 450 points across the state through the coordinated efforts of various health institutions.

The Government of the State of Mexico, through the State of Mexico Health Secretariat, plans to administer more than 400,000 doses of the measles vaccine as part of the State Vaccination Campaign, which runs from February 7 to 15 throughout the state. The announcement was made by Dr. Macarena Montoya Olvera, head of the department, during the official launch of the campaign at the Zacango Ecological Park, one of the 450 vaccination points enabled in the entity. During her visit to Zacango Ecological Park, the state secretary of Health reported that this strategy involves the coordinated participation of the health sector institutions, including the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), IMSS Bienestar, the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (ISSSTE), and the Institute of Social Security of the State of Mexico and Municipalities. The official invited the population to go to the nearest vaccination point, emphasizing that there is sufficient biological material to meet the demand during the established period. To facilitate access to information, the State of Mexico Health Secretariat has enabled a microsite where the locations and attention hours of the vaccination points can be consulted. Likewise, it was reiterated that health centers and medical units of the participating institutions also apply the vaccine, as part of the effort to guarantee broad and timely coverage.
