The Government of Mexico City activated Yellow Alerts due to forecasts of low temperatures and strong winds in various boroughs. In a statement, the Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection Secretariat (SGIRPC) announced the activation of a "Yellow Alert due to forecast of low temperatures for the early morning and morning of Saturday, February 28, in the boroughs of Milpa Alta and Tlalpan." Temperatures of between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius are expected between 01:00 and 08:00. Likewise, a "Yellow Alert due to forecast of strong gusts of wind for the afternoon of Friday, 27/02/2026" was activated in 12 boroughs, including Álvaro Obregón, Benito Juárez, Coyoacán, Cuauhtémoc, Iztapalapa, and Miguel Hidalgo. The Early Warning System indicated that gusts of 50 to 59 kilometers per hour could be recorded between 13:10 and 19:00. Civil Protection recommended wearing at least three layers of clothing, avoiding sudden temperature changes, and maintaining adequate ventilation if heaters are used. It also urged to remove objects that could fall due to the wind and avoid going up to rooftops or scaffolding. In case of any emergency, SGIRPC asked to call 911, Locatel, or their official channels to receive guidance.
