Rain and Strong Winds Expected in Mexico City and State of Mexico

On Monday, the National Water Commission (CONAGUA) reported that rain and showers are expected in Mexico City and the State of Mexico, accompanied by wind with gusts reaching 30-40 km/h. The weather conditions could generate precipitation of variable intensity during the afternoon, mainly during the period of greatest atmospheric instability of the day. According to the official forecast, rain in the Valley of Mexico is expected mainly between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM, when the probability of showers will increase in both the capital and municipalities of the State of Mexico. This schedule coincides with the daytime warming, which favors the formation of cloud cover and rapid but intense storms. In Mexico City, rain and showers are expected in the following boroughs: Cuajimalpa, Miguel Hidalgo, Azcapotzalco, Tláhuac, Milpa Alta. These areas could register light to moderate rain, with the possibility of strong winds in some areas. In the State of Mexico, the forecast includes several regions where showers are expected during the same afternoon period: Atlacomulco, Valle de Bravo, Ixtapan de la Sal, Tultitlán, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Naucalpan, Lerma, Zumpango, Texcoco, Ecatepec, Chimalhuacán, Amecameca. In these municipalities, rain may be scattered, but with the possibility of significant accumulations in specific areas. In addition to the rain, winds of 10-25 km/h are expected, with gusts of up to 40 km/h, which could cause fallen branches, light objects, or complications in traffic circulation. Authorities recommend: using an umbrella or raincoat, avoiding areas with trees during wind gusts, driving with caution on wet pavement, anticipating travel between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM, and staying informed with official updates.
