The Atlas of Femicides of the Attorney General's Office of Justice of Mexico City (FGJCDMX) confirms that the murder of women for gender reasons continues to be a serious problem in the country. The document reveals that five boroughs concentrate the majority of femicide cases, according to data collected from 2019 to September 2024.
The boroughs with the highest number of femicides are Iztapalapa with 80 cases, Gustavo A. Madero with 51, Cuauhtémoc with 48, Tlalpan with 50, and Álvaro Obregón with 26, while Magdalena Contreras and Cuajimalpa de Morelos show less incidence, with 6 cases each.

They are followed by young adult women aged 18 to 29 with 120 cases, and older adults of 60 years and above, with 55 cases. Additionally, 20 femicides of adolescents aged 12 to 17 and 15 of girls aged 0 to 11 were registered.
In relation to the location of the victims' bodies, it is noteworthy that 196 were found in domestic closed spaces, 150 in open public spaces, 64 in non-domestic closed spaces, 5 in undetermined locations, and one in a private plane.
