According to reports from the Metrobús operating company, the Control Center received an alert at 08:10 AM, informing that the public transport unit had collided with the private vehicle that apparently was crossing Petén street. However, the nature of the accident raises questions about the circumstances that led to the collision.

Emergency services quickly arrived at the accident site and performed a total of 12 medical assessments, of which four people required preventive transfer to a hospital. The injuries varied in severity, but fortunately, no life-threatening injuries were reported among those affected.

In response, Metrobús committed to fully cooperate with the competent authorities to determine responsibilities and clarify the facts. Following the accident, the insurance company of this public transport appeared on site to provide necessary assistance to those affected and begin the investigation process.

Meanwhile, Metrobús continues to operate and is implementing measures to ensure the safety of its users; however, it was reported that Line 2 is experiencing slow operation, so users are advised to take precautions to arrive on time at their destinations.

At the time of the incident, Metrobús explained that the unit was traveling in its designated lane, indicating that the operator was complying with established traffic regulations for this transportation system.
