In the year 2023, when analyzing the registered deaths in Mexico, it was observed that Mexico City had the highest crude rate, with 837 deaths, while Guerrero had the lowest rate, with 444 deaths.

Regarding the months with the highest death toll, January stood out with 9.81% of the cases, and June with 8.83%. On the other hand, September and April were the months with the lowest number of deaths, accounting for 7.85% and 7.92%, respectively.

Mexico City was the entity with the highest crude death rate, with 840 deaths, while Baja California Sur recorded the lowest rate, with 466. Some entities like Chiapas, Veracruz, and Mexico City had the lowest death rates.

In relation to external causes of death, such as accidents and homicides, they represented 10.5% of the total deaths, according to Inegi data. This contrasts with the life expectancy in Mexico in 2022, which was 74.8 years, being 78.1 years for women and 71.5 years for men.

Regarding the gender distribution of deaths, 44.1% of the cases were women, while 55.8% were men. The age group of 65 years and older concentrated the highest number of deaths, with 58% of the total.

Nationally, the crude death rate was 615 per 100 thousand inhabitants, with entities such as Colima, Baja California, and Morelos presenting the highest rates. External causes led to the deaths of around 83,343 people in 2023, while diseases such as heart disease and diabetes were the main causes of death, claiming the lives of around 774,110 Mexicans.

Regarding accidental and violent external causes, such as accidents, homicides, and suicides, they represented a significant percentage of the deaths.
