The Government of Mexico City has announced the availability of the permanent driver’s license in CDMX starting November 16, 2024. This process will take place at the macro module located in the Arms Room of the Iztacalco Mayor's Office, where citizens can complete the necessary procedures to obtain their private vehicle license.
As part of the requirements established by the CDMX Government, it is emphasized that applicants for the permanent license must not have any convictions for traffic offenses or have been sanctioned by the "Drive Without Alcohol" program. The procedure will be available from November 16, 2024, until December 2025.
To obtain the permanent license in Mexico City, it is necessary to follow a few steps. First, interested parties must have a CDMX Key Account to schedule their appointment at the preferred module. Those who have never obtained a driver's license in CDMX will need to take a driving test. On the other hand, those who already have a valid license can complete the procedure automatically.
Among the requested requirements are official identification, proof of residence in Mexico City or the State of Mexico, and a paid capture line with a cost of $1,500. It is important to mention that the system will require entering the CURP, validating the information, and scheduling the corresponding appointment to complete the process of obtaining the permanent license in CDMX.
