Public Transport Driver Killed in Violent Altercation

A public transport driver in Mexico City was killed during a road rage incident involving a worker from the Ministry of Works and Services. Witnesses reported that a 65-year-old driver was punched in the face and died instantly. The assailant was arrested by local authorities after attempting to flee the scene.


Public Transport Driver Killed in Violent Altercation

A public transport driver from Route 28 in Mexico City lost his life in a tragic incident on Monday, January 20, 2025, after being assaulted by a worker from the Secretary of Works and Services. The event took place in the Granada neighborhood, in the Miguel Hidalgo borough, causing shock among witnesses and users on social media.

Witnesses reported that the van driver was hit by a cargo truck driven by a man approximately 40 years old, triggering a verbal altercation between them. The individual driving the truck decided to get out of his vehicle and attack the van driver, a 65-year-old senior citizen, delivering a fatal blow to his face.

Despite the elderly man's attempts to get out of his unit to respond to the aggression, it was impossible and he lost his life on the spot. Meanwhile, the aggressor attempted to flee on foot, abandoning the truck at the scene. However, he was detained by passengers of the van and other drivers present until units from the Mexico City Citizen Security Secretary intervened and arrested him.

The person responsible for the murder was taken to the Public Ministry to make a statement about the events. The victim, the driver of the Route 28 van, was left lifeless in his vehicle, while the body was removed by forensic experts from the Justice Prosecutor's Office of CDMX. The tragedy occurred as a result of a traffic conflict in which a worker from the Secretary of Works and Services ended the life of a public transport driver.
