A pioneering Mexican EdTech company in the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) to train operational workers, Ozaru, will represent Mexico in the final of the Global Edtech Startup Awards in London. The startup, led by Guillermo Garza Montes de Oca, won first place in the Latin America semifinal and will now participate in the final at the Bett Arena of the Excel London Exhibition Center. Before the awards ceremony, a two-day bootcamp is being held to establish partnerships with Edtech community partners, industry leaders, and potential investors.
The GESAwards, considered the largest competition and community of Edtech worldwide, involves companies from six continents and more than 8,000 startups. Furthermore, in a month, the Lawit Legal Summit-Chasing Dragons event will take place at the Club de Industriales in Mexico City, aimed at executives from the financial, legal, and business sectors, to discuss sustainability and digital transformation themes. Various experts such as Daniel Solano, Jorge Rickards, Vanessa Silveyra de la Garza, and Javier Treviño Cantú will be present at this event scheduled for February 25.
Regarding the risks facing Mexico, the lack of water and energy ranks among the main challenges in the short, medium, and long term. These issues not only affect the population but also hinder business competitiveness. According to a report from the World Economic Forum, the lack of water and energy are considered primary risks for the country. On a global level, environmental challenges are prominently among the concerns for the next decade.
The demands for water and energy are emerging as imminent challenges, especially for the business sector, industrial parks, and data centers, which face difficulties expanding due to high water consumption. On the other hand, risks of crime, social inequality, and insufficient public services are also highlighted in the national landscape. Legally, a recent ruling from the First Chamber clarified that being a public servant does not justify the dissemination of personal or intimate information on social media, prioritizing the right to privacy.
In summary, both nationally and globally, environmental sustainability, digital transformation, and privacy protection stand out as critical issues that require attention and concrete actions to address future challenges.
