The Government of Mexico City has launched a social program called Pension Men Well-being aimed at men aged 60 to 64 who reside in the capital. This program aims to provide financial support of 3,000 pesos bimonthly, as well as access to health services, physical activation, free will processing, job offers, and access to credits for entrepreneurship.
The Secretary of Inclusion and Social Welfare, Araceli Damián González, emphasized the importance of this program by providing support to men at a stage in life where they may face challenges such as unemployment or insufficient income. Mexico City is the only entity in the country that has a pension for men in this age range.
To access the program, the requirements are to be a resident of Mexico City, be between 60 and 64 years old at the time of registration, and show interest in receiving support. It is important to present documentation such as official identification, a valid proof of residence, a birth certificate if necessary, and fill out an income application form.
The Government of Mexico City carried out a door-to-door strategy to register the first beneficiaries in the most vulnerable areas of the capital. The program is expected to reach a total of 77,000 beneficiaries. The call for future registrations will be announced by SEBIEN CDMX on its official page and communicated through local government channels.
During the process of delivering program cards at the Zócalo of the capital, the Governor of Mexico City, Clara Brugada, highlighted the importance of solidarity and equality between men and women, recognizing men as allies in the fight for gender equity.
