Almost a week ago, the scandal related to Maribel Guardia and her grandson erupted, and now the case has taken an unexpected turn. Following the decision by the Prosecutor's Office to hand over the actress's grandson to her custody while the situation was being resolved, it has been revealed that the prosecutor in charge has been removed from his position. This controversial decision has generated uncertainty on social media about whether the investigation will have to restart, as the prosecutor involved in the case faces corruption accusations in another matter.
Bertha Alcalde Luján, the attorney general of Mexico City, announced that Miguel Ángel Barrera Chávez, who was serving as the prosecutor for the Investigation of Crimes Against Children and Adolescents, has been relieved of his duties. This move comes after an incident involving María Fernanda Turrent, who was detained after reporting the violence she suffered. In this regard, Alcalde stated in a video: "In this Prosecutor's Office, the manipulation of the system through economic resources or connections with power will not be tolerated in any way."
It is important to note that this case is unrelated to that of Maribel Guardia and her grandson, who is separated from his mother Imelda Tuñón. Following the prosecutor's dismissal, questions arise on social media about how this situation will impact the case of the actress's grandson. Addis Tuñón, a journalist and mother of Imelda, expressed on her social media her hope that with the departure of the "corrupt" official, the case of her daughter-in-law, whom she accuses of influence peddling, will be reviewed again.
