Authorities are investigating a video that went viral on social networks showing alleged officials from the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City extracting fuel from a patrol car of the corporation with hoses, collecting the fuel in plastic containers. The SSC has initiated an internal administrative investigation after receiving a complaint regarding the possible theft of fuel from official vehicles.
According to official information, the events are said to have taken place at the facilities of the Metropolitan Police Unit Guerreros, where staff participation in these illicit activities is suspected. The General Directorate of Internal Affairs of the SSC is working on the corresponding investigation.
As part of the process, the unit's command will be summoned to give their statement while efforts are made to identify the individuals who appear in the video circulated on social media. If necessary, information will be provided to the investigative authorities to determine the criminal responsibility of those involved.
In an official statement, the SSC emphasized that acts contrary to the Code of Conduct and Ethics, as well as the values and principles of the institution, will not be tolerated. It was assured that all cases that violate regulations will be investigated and sanctioned according to the law.
