Mass Protests Scheduled in Mexico City

The streets of Mexico City will see a series of demonstrations today, February 3rd, 2025, beginning at various times and locations. Activists will gather to protest against economic and immigration policies, demanding urgent changes. Key venues include the Monumental Plaza de Toros and the U.S. Embassy, among others. Residents are advised to be cautious of traffic disruptions.


Mass Protests Scheduled in Mexico City

Today, Monday, February 3, Mexico City will experience a series of mobilizations and demonstrations at different points in the city. It is expected that at 6:00 PM, at the "1 de Diciembre" Market in the Benito Juárez borough, market vendors will gather to discuss the guidelines regulating their activities and to plan a march in the coming days to protest this regulation. Meanwhile, at 10:00 AM, at the Subsecretariat for Metropolitan Coordination and Government Liaison, the Popular Congress of Mexico City will request housing in the various boroughs of the city.

The Traffic Orientation Center (OVIAL) of the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) has indicated various traffic alternatives for this day, including detours on Line 1 of the Metro due to maintenance work. Likewise, the Command, Control, Computing, Communications, and Citizen Contact Center of Mexico City (C5) warned about mobilizations and demonstrations in the capital, urging residents to take precautions.

At other points in the city, at 2:00 PM, a protest by the Migrant Network will take place at the Embassy of the United States in Mexico, rejecting economic and immigration policies, as well as in solidarity with the migrant community in the United States. At 3:00 PM, at the Angel of Independence, activists and collectives will demonstrate in support of Serbian students and other social organizations, demanding an end to corruption in the Government of Serbia.

On the other hand, at 4:30 PM, the Monumental Plaza de Toros in Mexico City will host the bullfighting event "Anniversary Fair 2025," with a planned capacity of 18,000 people. Thus, Mexico City prepares for a day of mobilizations and marches at different points in the city.
